Fantastic blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers?

I’m planning to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you advise starting with a free platform like
Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely
    overwhelmed .. Any recommendations? Thanks
    a lot!

It’s really a matter of budget. Self-serve options like Squarespace and Wix can produce workable websites, but they require a lot of work on your end and have significant limitations. Working with a web developer takes a lot of stress off you and can make any website imaginable, but can be expensive, especially for starting businesses.
